About Us

The Officer Jeff Shelton Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in 2008 to honor the life, service and legacy of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Officer Jeff Shelton.  On April 1, 2007, Officer Shelton along with his partner, Officer Sean Clark, were shot and killed in the line of duty.  Our foundation is dedicated to not only remembering and honoring Officer Shelton but to honoring all law enforcement officers who continue to serve and protect our communities every day along with the memories of officers who paid the ultimate price.

The mission and purpose of the Officer Jeff Shelton Foundation is to assist law enforcement officers and law enforcement departments with community centered events, recognize local officers for their work within our community and to assist in the education of our future law enforcement officers through scholarship opportunities.  As an organization, we hope to be a catalyst for change within our community.  We want to shine a light on these brave men and women who are led by a calling to serve and protect our community with their hard work and dedication.

As an organization, we are honored to support the work of law enforcement agencies.  We proudly host events planned to increase community awareness and understanding of the work done by our local law enforcement agencies.  Each year during National Police Week, we hold a Memorial Service in Locust, NC to honor all fallen officers who have lived or worked for agencies in Stanly County.  In addition to these community events, monies raised by Officer Jeff Shelton Foundation help fund scholarship opportunities for students majoring in criminal justice.
